Fall Parity League

Back by popular demand!

MODS is pleased to announce indoor Parity League will run again this fall. More details in the full story below.

*** There is room for up to 8 more women in the league

Standings, stats leaders, schedule found here.

What? Indoor Parity League. Those who participated in the league this spring will be familiar with the format. Signup is individual, with teams initially assembled based on balancing experience levels between teams. Statistics (goals, assists, Ds, turnovers) will be tracked and players will “earn” a salary based on these stats. Periodically teams will need to make trades to stay under a salary cap, which will have the effect of promoting balanced matchups through the league – i.e., parity.

Where? All games will be at the U of M Indoor Soccer Complex.

When? Twice a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from September 6th up to and including October 13th. Games will run from 8:15-9:15 pm. Exceptions: on Tuesday September 13th and again on Tuesday October 11th, some games will run from 9:15-10:15 pm instead. On Thursday September 29th and Thusrday October 13th, all games will run from 8:45-9:45 pm.

What about outdoor Fall League? Outdoor Fall League will run as usual on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 pm until dusk. It is expected that Parity league will attract largely different players who may not be available or interested in outdoor (e.g. later starts for Parity, and all games indoors), but those interested in both should be able to participate if interested. Just be aware that for the first week or two of outdoor, games may end close to the start time for Parity (time cap will start at approximately 8 pm and get earlier over the season) so players may need to leave outdoor early to make the start of Parity. This potential conflict will ease as sunset and thus cap times occur earlier over the fall.

How much will it cost? Fees will be $60 for the season (12 games). This is the same per-game cost as Spring Parity League (which was $50 for 10 games). All players must be MODS members. Memberships paid for this spring/summer are valid for fall and winter.

How much space is there? The league will have room for twice as many teams and players as Spring Parity – 8 teams (we will have the full indoor facility). Based on this we will cap registration at 96 players.

How do I sign up? Email Josh (email link fixed - sorry!) with your name, gender, and highest level you have played so far (i.e. division A-F, Touring, or New if you have not played before). We will balance teams initially so each team has a range of experience.

Registration update (as of 10:30 am September 1st):
56/56 slots for males registered (FULL*)
30/40 slots for females registered
* We will still take names for a waitlist and/or sub list - if you are interested in subbing for teams when missing players.
