Title: Youth and Rural Program Coordinator

Salary: $30,000 at 35 hours/week

 

Organizational Profile:

Established in 1988, the Manitoba Organization of Disc Sports (MODS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of disc sports and player development in Manitoba.

 

Position and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the MODS Executive Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing a wide range of administrative and management support. The Youth and Rural Program Coordinator will play an important role in meeting the organization’s goal of expanding disc sports throughout the Province by supporting programs focused on the development of disc sports with the following user groups: youth, rural, university, women and high-performance athletes. Responsibilities for this position include administering and facilitating skills clinics, organizing and planning programs and events, supporting and administering leagues and other duties as assigned.

 

Essential Qualifications:
  • Ability to work independently

  • Experience in creating and/or running programs

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (specifically Word and Excel)

  • Proficient in English written and oral communication

  • Regular access to a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule

 

Asset Qualifications:
  • Graduation with a degree from a recognized University or College in Recreation or Event Management, or related studies teaching program coordination and facilitation relevant to the position

  • Experience working in recreation, event management or program coordination

  • Experience running sports clinics
  • Proficiency with disc skills
  • Experience teaching disc skills
  • Experience working with youth
  • Experience taking initiative on projects

  • Experience updating websites
  • Experience in event management

 

Exceptional interpersonal skills, superior organizational skills and strong communication skills are assets for this position.
