Manitoba Organization of Disc Sports (MODS) would like to acknowledge that we are located on Treaty 1 Territory and serve all of the province of Manitoba, the traditional lands of the Anishinabe (Ojibwe), Ininew (Cree), Ojibwe-Cree, Dene and Dakota and is the Birthplace of the Metis Nation. We welcome all nations to MODS activities, programs and community with open minds, hearts and through Spirit of the Game.
Most MODS programs take place within Treaty 1 Territory, but we would also like to recognize that Manitoba is made up of seven Treaties - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10 (although five Manitoba First Nations are not signatory to any Treaty with Canada) and we operate programs as guests and partners on these lands.
Our organization is also part of a larger national organization known as Ultimate Canada, who will host annual championships throughout the country. It is important to recognize and honour the traditional ways of life of the Indigenous peoples and their ties to this land, and that our members are always guests in these communities. We are all treaty people.
