Female players have long been in high demand in the sport of Ultimate and this year is no different.
With the additional restraints of needing to limit players to two teams at a maximum and the introduction of the Gender A Rule women have never been in higher demand. MODS in conjunction with the Women's Committee is working on a multi-year plan to increase the recruitment and retention of female players in our sport.
Below are 3 ways that women can get involved right now!!!
1) Free Agent Thursday Team - MODS needs to create a Thursday Free Agent team to bring that league night to even numbers. A partial team is already in place and we really need to add 3 to 4 women to make the team happen. Please help us spread the word. If someone hadn't registered but is looking to play now that the COVID-19 situation has improved this is a great option. If you're a female matching player and are playing one night but can add Thursday to your schedule then that would work as well. Anyone interested in playing should contact Corey to get the details on how to sign up. Update: The Free Agent team is full.
2) Monday team needs women - A league team recently lost 3 of their full time female players. We need full time female players and subs to help fill this team's roster.
3) Join an Existing Team - If Monday's don't work for you there are no shortage of existing league teams on the other nights who would love to add females to their roster. If you would like to find a team to play on please contact Corey and I will find a suitable team for you.
3) Women's Return to Active Bootcamps - The Women's committee is running Monday and Wednesday sessions to help ease players back into Ultimate. The weekly sessions incorporate some physical training with skill development for Ultimate. The Adult Program page has links to register for these programs.
