About High School League

MODS Spring League

The long-running MODS Spring School League will kick off again this year in March (registration) with play starting at the end of April. The league offers both Middle School and High School options. Within those divisions we offer additional tiers to help develop players and create parity within the league.

Registration: Registration will be done online and will begin on March 15th. Registration deadline is Friday April 5th at 4pm. High School Teams pay $90.00 as a team fee. Schools requiring help can contact Corey for help and options for parents who can't complete online registrations.

MHSAA - MODS is an affiliated sport with the Manitoba High School Sports Athletic Association. In addition to regstering with MODS schools will be required to submit rosters to the MHSAA

Memberships - each player must get a MODS junior membership ($10.50 including GST). For 2019 MODS has moved to a single junior membership price reducing the fee from $15.75 down to $10.50.

Requirements: To register a team in the league that team/school needs a teacher or school admin supervisor and a coach (the coach can be from the school or an outside volunteer). Our school league uses a 4 – 3 ratio of guys and girls to comprise their teams of 7. We recommend a minimum of 8 boys and 6 girls per team, but encourage you to carry a larger roster to ensure that you’re not short players. Teams need to be able to travel to one or more of our game sites and should expect to play road games within their region.

Dates and Times: The High School League plays on Tuesday’s and Thursday's. Games are played from 4:30pm – 6:00pm; teams usually arrive at 4pm for warm up. Weather permitting the league will begin the last week of April (23rd) and runs until May 23rd.

Venues and Locations:  In the past our main fields of play for games have been Assiniboine Park and Churchill Drive Park, however as we continue to grow and attempt to regionalize we will be encouraging as many schools as possible to provide their own fields for games.  In the case of schools not having a “home” field, we will attempt to schedule their home games at the fields provided by MODS at Assiniboine Park and Churchill Dr. However, all teams will be expected to travel for away games.  We will make every attempt to keep travel to a minimum and in their region. MODS is debuting 5 brand new Ultimate fields at Assiniboine Park this spring and 3 more will be added for spring 2020.

Field Credit - schools that can provide a home field for half or more of their games will have the team fee waived. Please use this link to submit info for your school about whether you have a field or not and where your team can travel to.

Deadlines: MODS will be using a new "Hard Deadline" policy for all of its registrations in 2019. Please note all team registrations must be into the MODS office for Friday April 5th, 2019 at 4pm. Rosters, player registration and junior memberships must be paid before the teams first game.
