We are hoping that things return to normal for the start of May and we want to be ready to offer our members and our community a full array of Ultimate. We are hoping that through our programs this spring and summer, people have something to look forward to and plan for... something that allows them to reconnect after some quiet times and a chance to get back to active living and spirit of the game.
It is with our 3 pillars guiding us through this pandemic that we focus on our third pillar in this moment. "Resuming programs and services as soon as it is safe for our community"... So please make plans and register your fellow teammates with MODS memberships and register teams for the night of your choice and program that best suits your style, friends and ability.
If you know of people who will have been stuck inside for weeks or longer and have a need to get back into their community, share Ultimate with them. Through Spirit of the Game we can help grow our community and share in a positive comeback.
The Manitoba Organization of Disc Sports has set the following goals to guide us during the COVID-19 outbreak.
Wednesday's now offers a parity league for women. Sign up as an individual and you will be placed on a balanced team by leadership for the season. This league plays Wednesdays out of IJL Ultimate Park.
We have an intake for athletes ages 9 years old through 11 years old which start this May and play through until the end of June. In July and August we offer WYUL for 12 year olds through 15year olds. Both WYUL groups will train out of Assiniboine Park on Wednesday's.
We're offering men's programs, currently set for Wednesday evenings at IJL Park. Those who are interested (but on a different night) are encouraged to reach out to the office and share your evening of choice with the office (Corey Draper) or in the community through George Buri.
MODS is excited to highlight one of the aspects of ultimate that is unique to the sport... Spirit of the Game!
We're hoping to see more spirit circles, with louder chants and songs and bigger and better cheers. We're hoping to see costumes on leagues nights and awards for the most spirited people on any given night! MODS is making things sweeter for those who shine with Spirit as well!!!
