Memberships, Team Registration, Program Registration and Navigating Summer Plans...

We are working around the clock to keep updating plans and options for our members and communities this summer. Please take a look below for our initial plans as we navigate social distancing and doing our part to flatten the curve. Please check back often as we update this page to keep people informed about their preferential programs and updates.

Memberships

  • At this time and until further notice, if anyone needs a refund on their membership for the year, we are happy to offer you that refund in full.
  • If you get a MODS membership at any time before programs start up again, and you would like a refund, we are happy to refund you in full.
  • If you get a MODS membership and find out the plans for your program do not meet your schedule or needs, we will offer you a full refund up until the end of May or the first week of that program. (which ever is later)

Step 1 - Get in the Queue

Please help us plan. With things being fluid and with MODS trying to have programs start as soon as we can once it is safe to do so, we can really get a head start by having an understanding of who is coming back to MODS programs this summer and who is not.

  • Please register yourself for any program you are interested in.
  • If you are registering a team for mixed league, please register your team on your prefered night.
  • YOU DO NOT NEED TO PAY RIGHT NOW. Just start your team registration and when you get to check-out, just stop there. This will get your team in the list without paying and give you the option to pay online at a later date.
    • We don't need your money at this time, we do need to plan for you and make sure we have fields and resources though, so please let us know if you're coming back!
    • For individual registration programs contact Corey to inform him that you would like to be added to the list of interested players for the program. Unlike team registrations an incomplete "Individual registration" does not appear in the system on our end. If you want to delay paying until more is known then this is the way to do it.
  • Once you are in the system, follow the options for your program (listed below).

Step 2 - Follow the options below

Should programs resume for the start of May:

  • Adult programs - We will most likely be delayed by a week. We will schedule a double header in June to make up the lost game(s) in week 1 and 2, and get everyone playing as soon as possible.
  • Junior programs - We will work with school admins to see if a league and provincials are possible. We would push back the championships to the last week of May or first week of June to allow for more time. This is completely dependent on the feedback and direction from our school admins and coaches. Our Winnipeg Youth Ultimate League (ages 9-11) would start later in May and the program would have a reduced schedule and program fees.

Should programs resume for the start of June:

  • Adult programs - We would have lost a month of the season at this point. We will schedule a double headers the first week in June, July and August to make up the lost games. Fees would be pro-rated at this time and reduced. Beat the Skeeters will be pushed back to early July and the inaugural Pull for Pride tournament will be canceled.
  • Junior programs - We will work with school admins to see if a league and provincials are possible. We would push back the championships to the end of June. This is completely dependent on the feedback and direction from our school admins and coaches. Our Winnipeg Youth Ultimate League (ages 9-11) would be merged with the older WYUL 12-15 and would run through June and July. Team Manitoba and club programs for the year will begin tryouts the second week of June if it looks like Ultimate Canada will still be hosting an event. Should Ultimate Canada cancel the CUC Junior event, MODS will look to create new and unique options for our juniors over the summer for one year only (resuming participation in the CUC Junior series the following summer).

Should programs resume for the start of July:

  • Adult programs - If we have lost May and June, MODS will be looking to run all their adult programs on a reduced rate for July and August. For two months we will secure fields for single gender programs and the Torque mixed league and the season will culminate with Manitoba cup at the end of August. MODS will also look to run an additional adult tournament towards the end of July to help with development and healthy living.
  • Junior programs - We will work with our community to create camps and junior leagues to help with the missed school season from the spring. Parents and coaches will be encouraged to get athletes back together for a mini league in July and also a potential mini event. The size of this program still depends on the Team Manitoba program and if Ultimate Canada will be running a CUC Juniors. WYUL will be a combined age group and will run for two months through July and August.

Should programs resume for the start of August:

  • Adult programs - MODS will work with our community and get feedback on the opportunity to run adult leagues for one month (August) or for this year only run programs through August and September. If there is a desire to still have a 2 month season, we are happy to offer this to our members at reduced rates from normal summer programs. MODS will still run a Manitoba Cup adult mixed tournament at the end of August as a way to bring the community back together and to celebrate Spirit of the Game.
  • Junior programs - We will work with school admins to see if a league and provincials are possible by creating an enhanced fall league and championship in conjunction with Hold Back the Snow in September and October. Our Winnipeg Youth Ultimate League (ages 9-11) would be merged with the older WYUL 12-15 and would run through August and September. Team Manitoba would be canceled and pick up again in 2021.

Step 3 - We get ready for games!

Once we know when we can start and what options we have for that time frame, then it is all hands on disc! We're hoping in short order we can get everyone registered, organized and ready for a short turn around to game play.

If once we get to step three you have decided that these options and plans don't work for you, there are two options:

  • If you have paid for this program, we will refund you completely.
  • If you have not paid for this program, and only registered - please contact Corey to inform MODS that you are withdrawing from the program. No refund will be required but you must communicate with the office to ensure we know that you or your team are not playing.

Reach Out Anytime...

This is all very new to us and we are doing our best for the organization and our members in both the short term and long term. However that doesn't mean we have all the answers... quite the opposite. We are hoping that over the next few weeks if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas related to MODS programs - PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO REACH OUT!
