MODS Members,

As I eluded to in October’s letter, I intend to take this time to reflect on my first year as MODS president, as well as look ahead to the upcoming year in this role.

In 2020-21 we saw a number of changes as an organization. The transition to Gender Rule A and a change in our office staff both took place this past year as many of you likely noticed.

There were also some changes that may not have been noticed to the general membership, with improvements to some internal policies, the back end of the website continuing to be upgraded and namely a transition in accounting software. The pandemic impacts were also a regular item at the board level, with government supports proving essential to the continued operations of MODS.

Looking ahead, the newly elected board is currently engaging in strategic planning activities to set the course for how MODS continues to navigate the changed sport and non-profit landscape in the post-pandemic era. How we safeguard against similar events in the future, while being responsible stewards of our assets and providing our members with value in the present is key to the sustained success of MODS.

We will be looking to involve our membership and other key stakeholders in various ways throughout this process, however we are always open to feedback and input on what MODS should be prioritizing. You can reach me directly at president [at] mods [dot] mb [dot] ca, and all board member contacts are also public facing on the MODS website. Keep in mind that MODS is here to serve the membership as a whole, so we need to consider all input with that vision in mind.

At the board level we are looking forward to the future of MODS and we hope to hear from you on what ideas you have to help improve and grow the organization.

Daniel
