**NEW** News Function

We are excited to announce a new News function on our website. This ‘Your News’ function allows us to communicate more efficiently and directly with our members.

Currently, our community receives news in two forms.

General News: This is usually non-program specific news released by staff. This news is placed on:

  • The ‘News’ page
  • Highlighted as ‘Recent News’ on the MODS Home Page
  • Is visible on your dashboard as ‘recent news’(a relatively new feature as well)
  • Externally through social media/email blasts/quarterly newsletters.

Program News: This is news pertaining to a specific program, typically passed on by staff or conveners to captains(in team-based leagues) to pass on to their given teams.

We have now added a news function on our website that curates program news directly to our community and its members.

Program News that is communicated to captains is now also added to a ‘Your News’ function that is customized to both the program and the members registered for that program.

Example.

Member X is a player on a team in our Winter Indoor Mixed League and Sunday Women’s League.

  • They can still find General News in all the normal hubs listed above.
  • They can also now find news for the programs they are part of in a couple new ways!

**NEW** 'Your Program News’: News for registered programs will now be posted on the specific program registration page. Winter Indoor Mixed League news is posted on the Winter Indoor Mixed League page (at the bottom of the page), Sunday Women’s League news is posted on the Sunday Women’s league page.

‘Your Program News’ will also be curated on your dashboard. Your dashboard now contains a custom feed of all the news pertaining to programs you are registered for.

Member X would only receive Winter Indoor Mixed League, and Sunday Women’s League news in the ‘Your Program News’ tab.

We believe this news function will ease the weight on captains and create clearer communication from the office and conveners to the members in our programs.
