What is Developmental / Beginner's League?

This is an opportunity to learn about spirit of the game, rules, skills and strategy as well as the culture of ultimate.

The program features mentors who coach and play with the team.

Who is this for?

This program is great for new players and also players with experience who would like some more formal coaching. As a captain you may find this helpful to learn tips to take back to your teams on other nights.

Format

This will depend on the number of registrants; generally the program works one of two ways.

Option A - if we have enough players for 2 full teams this program will be part of our Mixed Summer League. Players would show up for a warm up and skill / strategy session at 6:30pm and then play in a league game at 7pm.

Option B - if we don't have numbers to support two teams this program will run by itself. Part of the time would be devoted to learning the game and working on your skills and the other part would be scrimmages and mini games within the group.

** Option A has been the more popular way to run this program, but we do need the numbers to make it work. If you're joining we encourage you to recruit as many people as you can to do it with you to help ensure the proper number of players.

Many players have started in this program and then gone on to play with MODS for years. Often a group of players will stick together and form their own teams for future years and seasons.
