Happy New Year!

As we move into 2021, there are both reasons for optimism and caution as we continue to navigate the situation brought on by the pandemic. Reflecting back on 2020, we were presented with challenges as an organization, as a community and as individuals that we had never previously faced. These challenges stretched us all, with many of us experiencing loss in some way.

We continue to be in a holding pattern with respect to programming as we wait for further information from the experts to help guide our return. However, we are encouraged by the introduction of vaccines that show great promise in their potential to reduce transmission and help us return to the activities that we are all currently missing. While the vaccines provide optimism for the future, the challenges of distribution have only just begun. We continue to need to respect and follow the existing protocols that are in place to protect ourselves and those around us.

The Board and Staff are in the midst of planning for what this return will look like, and are hopeful that we will be back on the field sooner rather than later. When exactly that will be is still anyone’s guess. We ask for your continued patience into 2021 as we determine, following the guidance of the provincial health and sport authorities, how best to move forward.
