Letter from the President - January 2020 Edition

Break out your flapper dresses, and your wing tips, we’re back in the '20s! Happy New Year and Happy New Decade everyone! 2020, Holy heck! Where has the time gone?

I hope everyone had a great holiday season! I’m going to keep this short and sweet this month.

With a new decade comes a renewed focus on Spirit. The spirit working group has sent in their recommendations and our staff will be hard at work implementing new initiatives this year. Not just in our rec leagues but across all of MODS programs, and all touring teams. It’s important to MODS and Ulitmate Canada that we foster a culture based on respect for everyone, including your opponents. We believe being competitive and having spirit are not mutually exclusive. We hope the new initiatives that MODS will be implementing will help foster a new era of Spirit that we can all be proud of.

As always MODS is looking for volunteers to help out with our committees and working groups! If you are interested in volunteering but just not sure how, check out our Get Involved page and let us know what interests you.

And last but not least, I want to thank everyone who has volunteered with MODS or is currently doing so. Without the continued support from these dedicated members MODS wouldn’t be half the organization it is today. I also want to thank our Staff who put in so much work every weekday, and a lot of times evenings and weekends. They are super dedicated and often underappreciated. Thank you for all your hard work, it has not gone unnoticed.
