Update June 5th, 2020: Earlier today we sent our Return to Play document to Sport Manitoba for their approval, once we get that it will be sent to the province for final approval. Hopefuly we will have more news to share in the very near future.
June 1st, 2020: With phase two of re-opening in Manitoba starting today, June 1st, we wanted to give you an update of what we are doing as an organization to prepare for disc sports once again. We know you are excited to throw some discs, and rest assured…we are too!
We are currently working on a Return to Play protocol that will be vetted by Sport Manitoba, and then the province, so that we can provide as safe a return as possible to the sport we all love. It will outline stages for opening that will each be in place for long enough to ensure that we can safely move on to the next stage. With these in place, we are more likely to get approval for our plan and ensure the safety of our membership. We cannot resume any programming until this has been approved, and we will share its details with you at that time.
It’s important for you to know that the proposed initial stage(s) will begin with training, clinics, and disc golf to adhere to provincial requirements. Ultimate leagues and tournaments will not be taking place in June or July. The board will be re-evaluating for August and beyond, and we will provide more information as it becomes available.
Thank you for your patience and continued efforts to follow the provincial health guidelines. Please feel free to reach out anytime (board@mods.mb.ca), we are here to serve you, our members.
Sincerely,
MODS Board of Directors
